Will the Girl Scouts sell drugs with cookies?
Since their announcement of no longer selling cookies with trans fats, many have wondered if the Girl Scouts have been looking for a way to get to the hearts and wallets of the trans-fat loving American public. Enter Johnson & Johnson and a very odd group of marketers.According to a story on Brandweek.com, the drug company plans on marketing a campaign where non-profits, such as the Girl Scouts, will "be encouraged to sell pain relievers and cough medicine to their relatives and neighbors."Could you IMAGINE that? "Hey Grandma, I hear you have a cough. Well, I have some medicine right here for you...but it will cost ya."
While this article says that the Scouts have no intention (at least the group mentioned), I'm definitely curious if groups will start catching on.I'm no fan of the poor kids going door to door to sell overpriced candy bars (why oh why do they always have nuts in them?) but a kid peddling "drugs?"
I'll pass.

Trend Alert:
The Vest Makes a Comeback!!!!
A vest is the kind of item that always looks good on someone else, right? Someone like Kate Moss, Diane Keaton à la Annie Hall or your kooky downtown friend. Well, with the menswear vest emerging as a major trend this season, it's time to consider that this is a look you can own.
Do you think you will add this to your closet or your childs!!!

***Update: Removal of Revise Item Duration***
Two-Hour Window to revise item duration
Sellers will notice that the ability to change their listing’s duration will be removed from the Sell Your Item form, Turbo Lister, and any third-party tools which utilize our API once 2 hours have passed after the start time of the listing. We wanted to be sure to make a 2-hour window available so that sellers will still have the opportunity to correct their listing if they discover they have listed it with the wrong duration.
Wow...if you ask me, This is not a good thing!!
What are your thoughts!!

Scam targets military spouses
Of all the things a military spouse must deal with, hearing that your mate has been injured while serving has got to be one of the absolute worst. To get that call and then find out it was just a scam is beyond comprehension.According to the American Red Cross, that is exactly what is happening to some military spouses. It starts with a call from someone with an American accent claiming to work for the Red Cross. The spouse is told that their husband or wife has been injured in Iraq and evacuated to Germany. The caller goes on to request personal information, such has Social Security number and date of birth, saying medical treatment cannot begin until they have this information. The result, of course, is a stolen identity. The Red Cross doesn't generally contact military members or their families directly, almost always going through a commander or first sergeant instead. Red Cross spokesperson Devorah Goldburg says "We know that it happened to one person; it was probably going to happen to others, and we wanted to be prudent and alert people," she said. Consider yourself alerted.
