eBay Shuts Trust & Safety Board after Credit Card Numbers Exposed By Ina Steiner AuctionBytes.com September 25, 2007

eBay shut down an entire discussion board devoted to Trust & Safety issues after someone began posting confidential user information. Someone using multiple User IDs began listing information purported to be eBay users' private and financial data on the Trust & Safety discussion board. Mark, a user who says he posts regularly on the board, said he noticed the problem at 8:50 am Eastern on Tuesday and called his eBay representative about 20 minutes later after he saw the posts remained. He said it took about an hour for the posts to be removed, and minutes later, the entire board was taken down.
The person posted using several IDs that look like they had been hijacked from legitimate users. The subject line of each thread began with the letters "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" followed by six numbers.
Mark said regular users who were posting on the board while the incident was taking place suspected that eBay may have been hacked, and he said some believed it was a scammer named Vladuz that has tormented eBay in the past. eBay has denied that Vladuz has ever hacked into its system (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y07/m02/i22/s03).

AuctionBytes was able to view the forum and several posts before they were removed. While most data looked like it could have been obtained through phishing campaigns, the posts also included fields labeled "Id verified" and "Store" along with a time-date stamp of the user registration. The accuracy of the information has not been verified by AuctionBytes.

Update 9/25/07 3:20 pm Eastern: eBay spokesperson Nichola Sharpe said Tuesday afternoon that posts made on the Trust & Safety board early this morning contained name and contact information for 1,200 eBay members and called the person posting the information a "malicious fraudster." She said the incident was not the result of a security breach from eBay and could have been obtained as part of an account takeover.
Sharpe said the credit card information contained in the posts were not associated with financial information on file for those users at eBay or PayPal. The company is in the process of proactively contacting members by phone, "so that if the information is valid somehow - regardless how this fraudster acquired the information - these members can take the steps they need to take to protect themselves."

eBay has temporarily blocked community access to the Trust and Safety discussion forum, Sharpe said, and informed the community of the incident via the eBay Chatter blog (http://www.ebaychatter.com/the_chatter/2007/09/trust-safety-fo.html).
"Our Trust and Safety team is continuing to closely monitor this situation," Sharpe said.
Meanwhile, users are spooked by the posts and some are critical of eBay's response. A YouTube member going by the name of "cappnonymous" posted a video showing the eBay Trust & Safety board posts, titling the submission, "ebaY Major Hack AttacK! User's Data Posted On Ebay T&S Bd" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_q9m2iFsz9M).

Fall 2007 Winter 2008 Key Colour Trends

The key new fashion colours for Autumn Winter 2007/8 are as usual darker tones than the summer palette. This winter the strawberry ice of summer has gained strength to become the red colour called chilli pepper. Purple, also a summer hue, is now a key colour in the Autumn Winter 2007/8 fashion colour palette.
According to Pantone the colour specialist, their main colour trends for fashion in autumn 2007 concentrates on the base colour palette of purple wine, cashmere rose, lemon curry, green moss, a soft violet blue, a blue grey green, a deep turquoise, chilli pepper red, burnt ochre and an espresso brown.
The Bold Brights
Jewel colours make up the bulk of the bold brights - orange, coral, pink, red, emerald green, rose amethyst and purple.
Golden Days
For Autumn Winter 2007/8 golden liquid lame disco diva dresses glimmer and dazzle especially suiting the young.
Black on Black
Black texture on texture, matte against shiny, against dull, against shimmering.
Note the yellow tones moving for instance toward olive, moss and cardamom as in the Miss Selfridge dress above. Gold also moves from palest gold, richer deeper 24k gold, through into rose gold, copper and ginger effects.
Shimmer is everywhere. Watch out for metallic copper effects on leather jackets and evening fabrics.

Monochrome Options
Black with white optical effects give many options. This summer saw lots of black and white spot variations, now for autumn 2007 notice how this current trend plays well to plaids and checks. This fashion trend for black and white has been a fashion love affair for years. Last autumn 2006, black and white looks favoured dog and houndstooth checks. This winter check out the alternative bold black and white tablecloth plaids.
Grey, silver, anthracite and charcoal make for grey knitwear, military tailoring, masculine trouser looks and slinky silver satin glamour.
It's not just silver grey and gunmetal grey garments that act as basic neutrals. Look out for cream and coffee cream clothes with texture on texture.
Bold Blues
This year the blue hues have taken off. In particular manufacturers have worked on springs electric blues. Royal blue is used for parkas and jackets. There are strong bold blues in the stores now as well as many greyed blues.
So near to burnt umber earth tones, terracotta and orange you will find coral tones merge with richer muddy reds. Jolts of red can add instant impact to dull outfits.
Rich red is a great colour choice for an evening dress.

How to make Pussy Cat Ears

All you need are these simple things

You Need:
Plastic Headband
Ears Pattern
Animal Print Foam
Black Craft Foam
Five Brass Fasteners
Wire Cutters
Scissors
Low Temp Glue Gun
Black Permanent Marker
Instructions:
Cut a piece of black foam to 2-1/2" x 12". Center it on the top of the plastic head band. Glue the foam in place using a low temp glue gun. Taper the foam along both edges to 3/8" an inch. Begin at the middle of one side and foam the foam over the edge of the head band and glue in place. Continue by doing the other half of the same side. Repeat for the other side.
Use wire cutters to snip the prongs of the brass fasteners. Bend the remaining prong pieces down. Glue fastener heads to the top of the foam covered head band beginning in the center and spacing 3/4" apart.
Print Ears Pattern. Staple to animal print foam all around the outsides of the ears. Cut out all four ears. Use a black marker to color in the white edges of the ears. Glue pieces back to back so you will have two ears with animal print on both sides. Glue ears to head band.

Fashion is bad for your health??????

Well this can be funny to most and to other not, but had to share...
Jeans: To me and most jeans don't quite look perfect until you have squeezed (baggy jeans just aren't cute) into them then properly broken them in. Well even the tiniest hips can suffer from tight fitting jeans as they could cause nerve damage. A Canadian doctor has found that pressure around the waistband of hipsters can pinch a nerve under the hipbone and cause a condition called meralgia paresthetica.

Thongs/ Panties: VPL is gross, so we opt for things that crawl up our backside like thongs and g-strings. But Dr. Thomas Gent from the Association of Gynecologists believes friction damage from the underwear's string section can aid the spread of bacteria and cause fungal infections (nasty).

Bras: For a big night on the town we all want to show a little cleavage. But did you know that push-up bras can cause you some problems? The squeezing is said to cause difficulty breathing which in extreme case can cause irritable bowel syndrome and constipation (ewwww).

Handbags: An oversized tote may dwarf your figure, but that heavy handbag can also cause neck strain, and shoulder tendonitis.

Sunglasses: Now what could be wrong with these? Scratched glasses can cause non UV-absorbing spots on the glasses which can cause more damage than not wearing glasses at all, which can score you cataracts as you age.

Shoes: I saved the most obvious for last. Too high or uncomfortable shoes can cause bunions, corns, calluses, and hammertoes. They can also cause stress to the rest of your body in the form on knee, hip, and spine pain. Ouch.
