Gas rationing in the 70's worked even though we grumbled about it. Itmight even have been good for us! Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destinyand let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits,their living? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce theimport/export deficit? An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill upyour car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia.Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from theSaudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up mytank, I'm sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, myfamily and my friends dead.

If you do the math at $95 per barrel, that's over $524 million PERDAY ($191 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members areour confirmed enemies!!!!!

Digital goods are often reproduced at little to no cost to the seller. On eBay, this creates the potential for Feedback Manipulation (both real and perceived).

To preserve the integrity of the Feedback system, effective March 31 all goods that can be digitally downloaded or transferred electronically must be listed using the Classified Ads format. Using the Classified Ads format, sellers receive a 30-day ad at a fixed price.

This solution enables sellers to continue to market their digital goods on eBay; however, because Classified Ad listings are a lead generation tool and do not result in transactions that go through eBay, Feedback cannot be exchanged between buyer and seller. Sellers who wish to continue to offer digital goods can do so by selecting the Everything Else>Information Products category in the Sell Your Item form and choosing the Classified Ads format (not auction-style or fixed price). I am writing you today to voice my dissatisification with some recent changes eBay has announced. I am both a buyer and a seller here on ebay. I am extremely distressed about eBay's view that sellers cannot leave negative feedback for a buyer. Are you serious? In the 16 months I have been selling on ebay I have only left negative feedback a handful of times and never in retailation. So basically you are going to make possible for buyers to destroy the creditibility of ebay sellers by allowing them to leave negative feedback for us while as a seller I do not have the right to do the same if warranted, oh yes I know that ebay will allow it under certain circumstances, but really there are other reasons to leave a negative feedback besides non payment. You are going to create an atmosphere where the buyer will be able to badger the seller and still leave negative feedback and the seller is powerless to do something about it, oh yes except to report it to eBay. Great eBay is already buyer friendly so whose side are you really going to take??? I do wonder...... Let's see the WHOLE reason eBay exists is the sellers, without us the buyers have nothing to buy and you have nothing to charges fees on...... etsy is looking better and better. AH yes the fees, the second part of my complaint. Somehow you have managed to lower eBay to the "used car salesmen" class. Trying to convince the sellers that you are lowering fees. What a complete joke! Sure you lowered the fees on some things.... BUT you NEGLECTED to mention in your "Ra Ra eBay" e-mail is that you signficantly increased the Final Value Fees (FVF) on the auctions and infact, because of the increase to the FVFs we will not only give back eBay any "savings" we would see from the lowered fees, BUT you will infact be collecting MORE fees overall! You hid that fact and that is slimy business practices! I am absolutely fuming as are many of my seller friends. You may have finally made eBay, aka Feebay, so buyer friendly, seller unfriendly, and full of fees that eBay may not be a going concern in the long term! Good job! KUDOS to you! I read eBay's concerns about buyers leaving the ebay market. Certainly eBay must realize that there is increased competition from other websites and with a tightening ecomony that might also be natural. But to pin on the sellers and not only increase the amount of money you collect from us, but to tie our hands to large degree when faced with a "deadbeat" or difficult buyer is crazy. Good Luck with your new rules leaving eBay's bread and butter out in the cold---- YES sellers are eBay's bread and butter, but you must think of us like trash! Don't worry, the trash may not be around as much- I know that I will be curbing my ebay activity and looking at other avenues to sell my wares. Finally just a thought--- did it ever occur to eBay to look within to control your own costs??

I know this is a huge change, but we're also putting into place protections that sellers have wanted for years. In addition to holding buyers accountable via non-public seller reporting tools, such as Unpaid Item reports, we are planning a number of other Seller Protections against inaccurate feedback:
We will remove, not just de-score, negative and neutral feedback when a buyer doesn't respond to the Unpaid Item process
We will remove all negative and neutral feedback and comments when a buyer (or seller) is suspended. We will also do this retroactively – which means any negatives and neutrals you've received from members we've ever suspended will be removed.
For sellers with an established track record, we'll prevent negative and neutral feedback within 3 days of listing end to promote communication.
We're going to reduce the number of days a member can leave feedback from 90 to 60 days.
We'll increase block bidder list capacity from 1,000 to 5,000 user IDs.
We'll increase our monitoring, and take action based on seller reports of buyers behaving very badly.
Feedback percentage will be based on the last 12 months, although the total count remains lifetime. This means that any negative or neutral feedback left for you more than 12 months ago will no longer affect your percent positive.

Bush may OK rebate check plan to boost economy

WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush is expected to embrace a bipartisan bid today to halt the nation from sliding into an election-year recession - a plan that could put rebate checks of at least $300 in Americans' pockets, congressional sources said.Bush is likely to steer clear of specifics, but for the first time yesterday told congressional leaders he favors tax rebates to jump-start the economy - and those checks reportedly could be as high as $800 per person and $1,600 for households."The president does believe that over the short term, to deal with this softening of the economy, that some boost is necessary," Deputy Press Secretary Tony Fratto said yesterday.

Congressional sources say that Bush is expected to endorse the broad outlines of a plan that would give rebates of at least $300 to taxpayers almost immediately.

These sources say some in Congress are pushing for rebates twice that size, while Bloomberg News reported that the administration might go as high as $800 for individuals and $1,600 for households. In addition, businesses might be allowed to deduct half of the price of equipment purchases.
