The right to trademark it?

What do you think? Should celebrities be allowed to trademark their children's names?

'Shiloh' is not the most popular baby name in the world, but does obscurity give Angelina Jolie and her daughter Shiloh blah blah blah Jolie-Pitt the right to trademark it?

To protect her daughter's name, Jolie filed a notice of opposition with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. "The notice of opposition alleges that you will be damaged by the pending trademark," says Thomas M. Wilentz, a trademark attorney in New York City. "Angelina must feel that people applying for 'Shiloh' need to get her consent."

Is that the epitomy of arrogance or what? What if your name is already Shiloh, do you have to have her consent to continue using your own name? There must be something in the water out there in celebrity-land, these people are crazy!

It's a publicity stunt, like everything is with celebs. Just a little something to get attention. It's a pity, really. I wouldn't trade my life for fame and the money it brings. You think they get paid well for what they do? You're right...they not only sell their talent, they sell their lives along with it. All the money in the world isn't worth that to me!

What about Shiloh's Roadhouse (steak house)???? They are pretty popular and all over the place in this region. Would they be made to change their name? CRAZY celebs!

She's an idiot. Its not like she made the name up. I used to work with a Shiloh.

OMG...does she know that there was a D!sney movie about a DOG named Shiloh??? Years ago...will she sue them too...

another case of too much money and nothing to do with it...if she wants to throw it away, tell her she can use my trash can...it won't go to waste there...( no pun intended!)

Arrogance is right!!! She hasn't learned to see beyond the mirror she is holding up!!!

And for her information Shiloh was a battle during the Civil war. It took place in Tennesse in April of 1862. Does she want that nullified and stricken from the history books now?!!!

It is time for all peoples everywhere to stop regarding actors and most politicians as god-like. I think they actually believe they are!!!

Okay now that's just insane....
She acts like she's the first person EVER to come up with the name Shiloh!! And you know these celebs are trendsetters to other celebs, especially her with her many international adoptions....I wouldn't be surprised if celeb baby name copyrights started popping up everywhere! Not cool at all... a name is a part of your identity and it should be able to be chosen freely without a copyright stopping it...UGHHH!!!

That's to funny, if a judge would grant her that he's crazy. My dad wanted to name me Shiloh, mom didn't. When they got a dog she hurried up and named the dog Shiloh so they would have to name me something else. :)
