Sellers may only leave positive feedback for buyers

I personally think this is insane and need to hear your input..we need to be heard !!!!

Sellers may only leave positive feedback for buyers (at the seller's option).

I know this is a huge change, but we're also putting into place protections that sellers have wanted for years. In addition to holding buyers accountable via non-public seller reporting tools, such as Unpaid Item reports, we are planning a number of other Seller Protections against inaccurate feedback:
We will remove, not just de-score, negative and neutral feedback when a buyer doesn't respond to the Unpaid Item process
We will remove all negative and neutral feedback and comments when a buyer (or seller) is suspended. We will also do this retroactively – which means any negatives and neutrals you've received from members we've ever suspended will be removed.
For sellers with an established track record, we'll prevent negative and neutral feedback within 3 days of listing end to promote communication.
We're going to reduce the number of days a member can leave feedback from 90 to 60 days.
We'll increase block bidder list capacity from 1,000 to 5,000 user IDs.
We'll increase our monitoring, and take action based on seller reports of buyers behaving very badly.
Feedback percentage will be based on the last 12 months, although the total count remains lifetime. This means that any negative or neutral feedback left for you more than 12 months ago will no longer affect your percent positive.
For more details, please see our information page.

They always do this - throw in one or two HORRIBLE changes with one or two good ones. Like they think we will be so overwhelmed with joy over the "good" stuff that we won't pay attention to the bad! So now not only are we (sellers) being rated on USPS service, but now we have ZERO ways to let everyone else in the eBay world know that certain buyer tried to cheat us out of our money! So what if we can file a Unpaid item!? How EXACTLY does this feedback system help sellers if buyers can only receive positive feedback?? It's like we're in kindergarten all over again - 'Lets not hurt their feelings by making them feel they did something wrong' but the ones who pay eBay fees, give them their paychecks, they "bolt" us to the wall in just about every way. "Oh but they'll never notice because we just reduced our fees!"

I agree, this is not fair and worst part is without the Sellers, their would have NO sales.
Fees...saving where
Lowering selling fees and raising final value fees from 5.25% to 8.75% for auctions and 10% to 12% for stores!
I do not see a savings..unless I'm blind

I would say that more than half of the negatives left by sellers are revenge. I also don't agree with the 60 day FB system. Many custom items are not received within that time frame. The ebay fees are so ridiculous. I think the exodus to Etsy will continue.

I may have to find another venue to sell my items. This is ridiculous. How unfair. This makes no sense whatsoever!

I think as sellers we need to make our voices heard to ebay. I am definately super duper ticked about the feedback thing no doubt,
BUT what really got my blood BOILING was ebay stating our fees were going down when infact they are not! In fact they are going up because of the 3.0% hike in final value fees. BUT they did not mention the hike in those, just the discounted ones and ebay still gets more $$ we sellers once again get the short end of the $$ stick! So no Naomi you are not blind.

I am going to write a compliant and anyone who would like to send it please email me at sheshebaby2007@yahoo.com and we can start an email campaign girls to be heard.

I have not composed it yet because frankly I am toooo hot! It be written by end of business 1/30

I think that most people realize that the feedback system on ebay is a JOKE and many people don't even use it anymore. It has gotten really ridiculous and I have just learned to not let it bother me anymore- it's just not worth it. A buyer is going to buy your merchandise if they like it, they are not likely to look at some idiots feedback... as long as you are a reputible seller, you really don't have much to worry about- how many neg are you really getting as a reputable seller????

Liz...I'm right there with you..so let us know when you have it ready.

As for Neg..to us..its not that..its we can not leave negs to Buyers who do not pay...that is the least of our problems its the fees they keep sneaking in on us...and that is what kills the SAHM...:(

As one Seller stated in a group:
I just figured that if I list 100 items in my store for $24 I will save $5 on listing fees.
If I sell 50 of those items it will cost me $24 more in their new FVFs!

I just have read everything worng and going to reread over again.
From what I read most of this is for sellers with bad FB and allot of unsatisfied customers.
Those people will even be pushed back on the search engines.
And those are the ones the money maybe held in paypay for the 20 something days .
But I know as a seller I wouldnt send anything inless my money cleared first .
Now for those who receive negs every month then yes this would be a prob for them and they shouldnt be selling at all.
So I have to agree in sense and if im reading right with that.
The other thing Someone stated ____(I also don't agree with the 60 day FB system. Many custom items are not received within that time frame) WOW thats 2 months if a custom cannot be made within 2 months somthing is wrong there no customs should take that long at all.
I know I for one always check buyers feedback I will not purchase anything if they have a bad feedback rating I got ripoff to many times.
As for the fees thats crazy the give it the take it away!
I am happy I decided to close my store a couple days ago and did that .. I will now sell everything on my ecrater store. and then auctions for ebay.
Well going to read more on this to see what I missed and what I thought was one way but is another lol.

As one person put it...
Don't fall for corporate spin - they are RAISING their final value fees for much more than the reduced listing fees.

The only way we (people) pay less is if our items don't sell; great business model!

I wonder if Paypel is going to raise theirs next...;(

I think its great that ebay is FINALLY doing something about it.

Sellers have what THOUSANDS of feedback, they do not give squat if one singular person gives a neg. And believe me I have over 1000+ transactions, there are MANY MANY negs, but I do not dare to leave a neg, unless the seller really pisses me off. And I have left neg comments. But what happens?? The seller gets off scot free, since my neg is hardly a dent, while I get hit for what 5%???? (its less dramatic now of course) .. btw that was like YEARS ago when I left the feedback, the seller is still selling lol with 98%!!!! only 2 percent when this guys has regularly received neg??? come on... I am still at 99.3% (I had 2 negs and both were retailiatory, and both sellers have happily been reported and taken out, but at what cost to me? It should'nt be that difficult to remove bad sellers) And I am being punished for what? Leaving feedback??? I PAID. I did my end, the seller pissed and I paid for it. I am very glad that ebay is doing what it is doing. I regularly look for errant sellers and report them to ebay. I have been cheated of 700 plus USD. I have a reason to be pissed. But what avenue do I have but to seek and report errant sellers. NOTHING! I agree that the system is biased towards sellers. But the sellers have been having it good for TOO LONG.
